In 1993 The Home Office recommended to chief officers of police a National training package concerning investigative interviewing which constituted the PEACE model. The training was designed for officers with five to ten years experience however, it was held in such high regard, that it was eventually rolled out to all operational police officers in England and Wales. The training included tuition and practice for interviewing witnesses, victims and suspects of crime.
